Hollis Gainey
Gainey was an All-State running back at Colorado City in 1954 and is a member of the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. But he made his mark in track. He won the 100- and 220-yard dashes at the state high school track meet in 1954 and 1955 and ran on relay teams at the University of Texas that set three world records.
