Chuck Hughes
Hughes played football at Abilene High and was a 2004 posthumous inductee. After a record-setting career at the University of Texas-El Paso (including a national record 349 yards receiving in one game), Hughes played five years in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions. He was the last player to die in an NFL game, collapsing in a game on Oct. 24, 1971. His death was believed to be the result of a ruptured major blood vessel. Deceased
