Ernie Park, Abilene Wylie, is a 2026 recipient of the Bill Hart Memorial Legends Award. He played high school football at Abilene Wylie and was named an Associated Press Little All-American offensive lineman at McMurry University. Park earned all-district accolades during his tenure with the Bulldogs.
He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 1963 American Football League Draft and played on the Chargers’ AFL championship team as a rookie.
Park was a member of the inaugural Miami Dolphins team and also played in the AFL for the Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos during his six year professional career. He was inducted into McMurry’s Hall of Honor in 1987.
