Murry Bowden, Snyder, was a first team all-district football player for the Tigers in 1966 and then went on to an outstanding career at Dartmouth College. Bowden led Dartmouth to two consecutive Ivy League championships in 1969 and 1970. He was co-captain of the undefeated 1970 team that finished 14th in the national major college football poll, the last Ivy League team to accomplished that feat. Bowden was a first team All-American in 1970 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003. He is past chairman of the College Football Hall of Fame and past vice chairman of the National Football Foundation. He earned the National Football Foundation’s Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award in 2018 for his contributions to the construction and management of the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. Bowden is the Founder and Executive Chairman of the Hanover Company, a real estate investment company in Houston.
