Ted Sitton
Sitton grew up in Stamford and was the quarterback on Abilene Christian University’s only unbeaten, untied team that won the Refrigerator Bowl in 1950. He was an assistant coach on ACU’s two national championship teams in 1973 and 1977 and was the head coach at ACU from 1978-84. He also coached at Graham and won a state championship as the track coach at Abilene High earlier in his career. He was known as a tremendous developer of quarterbacks, producing some of the outstanding ACU quarterbacks including Jim Lindsey, Jim Reese and Clint Longley.
