Jack Stuard

Stuard was the fourth recipient of the Lifetime Achievement for Media, joining Bill Hart, Dallas Huston, and Bill Little. Stuard, a graduate of Abilene High, taught and served as an assistant principal in the AISD from 1955 until his retirement in 1990.  He began doing the public address announcing for Cooper football games in 1963 before giving up those duties at the end of the 2005 season.  Most of those years, he did PA announcing at Shotwell for both Abilene High and Cooper football games, although he didn’t in 1978-79 in order to travel out of town to watch his son play at Cooper.  By his count, he missed only four Cooper games at Shotwell Stadium in 43 years, all to travel to watch his son Kyle play for Texas A&M.
