Jimmy Carpenter
Carpenter was an outstanding athlete for the Eagles during the 1954-57 era of Abilene High School sports. He was a three-time All-state Baseball selection, as well as an All-State Football selection his senior year. He led the Eagles to state championships in Football in 1954, ‘55 and ‘56, as well as state championships in baseball in 1956 and ‘57. After graduating with honors, Carpenter earned his degree from the University of Oklahoma where he continued to excel in the classroom as well as on the football and baseball fields.
